The Linotype® Gujarati typeface was originally developed in 1983 by the Linotype letter-drawing studio under Fiona Ross’s art direction. This revival was designed by Gunnar Vilhjálmsson and Kalapi Gajjar with Fiona Ross as a consultant. The family has five weights from Light to Black. It is a traditional design, optimized for setting lengthy text copy for print projects or for use on screens. While faithful to the original design, Linotype Gujarati introduces many design improvements, additional weights, and an extended character set. This new Linotype Gujarati is part of a project to refresh the pivotal Linotype Bengali and Linotype Devanagari typefaces and make them available for the first time in the popular OpenType font format.

Ornata F is the sixth of a series of old ornaments that I am trying to save from oblivion. I am completely redesigning the ornaments from scratch. Adrian Frutiger designed Egyptienne F for the Deberny & Peignot Foundry in 1956. This was the first of several Egyptians designed by Frutiger, see also Glypha and Serifa. “Egyptian” or “Egyptienne” is a typographic designation for roman typefaces with slab (or square or rectangular) shaped serifs; and those that have bracketing between main stroke and serifs (like this one) are known as “Clarendon-style Egyptians”. Egyptienne F has a medium x-height and excellent character spacing for setting text in small point sizes. Legible, flexible, and neutral in appearance, Egyptienne F is a good choice for books, magazines, and on-screen presentations.

f-line is a special handwriting monoline font face, with one constant line from glyph to glyph and variable width. It was drawn for the designer’s thesis in 2010 and expanded until 2021 with a lot of open type features. It’s built up with three glyph sets to let the glyphs rotate automatically, and amongst other type features initial forms are available.

“Teja” font was inspired in the lettering styles printed on enamel advertising signs. Kuunari is structured square sans type family of 42 fonts. It has three widths and 7 weights in both upright and italic versions. The base form is a round cornered rectangle and this form constructs the glyphs throughout the fonts. Kuunari is a straightforward sans serif. The "C Elle F" is a typographic family, as a stencil letter, originally intended for cutting and engraving to carry out marking and signaling work. German type designer Albert-Jan Pool created this sans FontFont in 1995. The family contains 3 weights: Light, Regular, and Bold and is ideally suited for film and tv, small text as well as software and gaming. It occurred to me years ago that the graphic arts community might find useful a digital typeface that mimicked the classic look of nineteenth-century handwriting. Conveniently, my mother then still volunteered at the Center for American History at the University of Texas at Austin, my hometown. She made copies of the letters of a few famous Texans -- Houston, Austin, Travis, Burnet, Rusk. Thomas J. Rusk’s penmanship caught my eye as the most accessible of the bunch. I hadn't realized at the time what a challenge it'd be to render a realistic-looking script face, but the result has, in fact, filled a niche.

The idea for Terra Ignota came to me years ago as I was admiring a reproduction of "Amerique Septentrionale," a 1650 map by French cartographer Nicolas Sanson, given to me by my parents. The handlettering has a sort of rakish character, evocative of pirates or adventurers at a time of unbridled world exploration. I ended up putting the project aside, but the idea to create this font tugged gently at my mind until I simply couldn't ignore it any longer. The resulting typeface has an italic slant and a deliberate feel, in keeping with its historical roots. Useful for simulating old hand-lettered documents. Has a full character set (and then some).

Zera JNL is one of those fonts that defy any simple description. While trying out effects on Transactive JNL, Jeff Levine came up with a set of letters comprised of intersecting rings that could illustrate chain, cellular structure, bubbles or probably anything your imagination can come up with to adapt the font to a particular project. Please keep in mind this design works best in larger point sizes.

Texas Chili is a modified version of our Philadelphian font family.
